Bumper Crop Baby was planted when I was pregnant with my daughter Anna. Bedding options were scarce in my hometown of Columbia, Missouri, and I was not finding what I had dreamed of for my baby. Literally taking matters into my own hands, I purchased a 1970’s Viking sewing machine from an ad in the Columbia Daily Tribune, designed a pattern and raced against my expanding belly to a finished crib set.
Over the years, new ideas have sprouted. All of my products are things I made for my own kids first. I test new things on Anna (now 4) and Nathan (21 mos) and my friends test them on their kids.
My explosion into the world market of baby retail has been somewhat delayed by the actual mothering of my children. Someday, maybe. For now, this is my creative outlet and a way to support my fabric-buying habits. When I’m not sewing or playing with my kids, I am also a dental hygienist, gardener and devout reader of good books.
Feel free to send me your product ideas, product feedback, gardening hints and book recommendations!
